When I think of that six-letter word I just want to grab a donut, brownie or slice of pizza and stuff my face! If none of those fattening foods are available then I could be found chomping on my nails {completely gross} just to keep my mouth busy. It has always been my worst enemy when it came to losing weight and I thought I could never defeat it. Until now.
You can make these playdough stress balls :)
The last few months our calendar has been steadily filling (especially Daniel's!) and it is to the point where Monday to Friday he is of the house from 7am - after 9pm and Saturdays we pretty much always have plans! We were completely getting our butts kicked from the stress in our lives and to top it all off, we found out that for the Easter play this year Danny has to be SHIRTLESS! So here we are, eating horribly, having a million excuses not to work out because of all the busyness in our lives, and putting all our dreams aside because they didn't fit in our schedules.
So this weekend the hubster and I decided to stop waging war against the stressfulness in our lives (since we were obviously on the losing side), let the stress work FOR us, not against us, and to be used as a tool to aid in getting back to a healthy lifestyle! And knowing Danny has to be without a shirt in front of our entire church doesn't hurt the weight-loss process ;)
Rather than filling our mouths with junk food and sitting around to "take a break", we decided to pop in some sugar-free chewing gum instead and take a walk or jog around the neighborhood for an energy boost that would really work. We also cleaned out our fridge so if we are overcome with the urge to eat due to stress it will be apples and oranges rather than pizzas and pies! Every time we are hit by the feeling of being overwhelmed it is another push to work towards our dreams so we can get out of the rut we are in!
Using the stress in our lives as a reason to make positive changes has been one of the best choices we could have made and I encourage you all to look for the best in your stress! :)
love always,

I like this! Let the stress motivate you and not make you panic! I like this attitude, will try to remember this myself.

Good take on stress :) I like you and hubs outlook on handling it! I need to start running... maybe then I won't eat my feelings all the time :)
I think having something to look forward to is always a good motivator! Good luck!
Great job deciding to work with the stress instead of against it! Good luck getting in shape and being healthier!
This a great attitude to have! I have definitely be skipping exercise due to the stress of having to fit everything - but that stops today - off for a run in half an hour! Thanks for the inspiration!
