The Journey Begins - Vacation Part 1

Hola! After going on vacation for 12 days I felt more weak, tired and feeble than ever before haha! Honestly, "vacation" probably isn't the right word for what we experienced.
"Adventure" is much more like it!We used every single hour of daylight to the fullest and we were up at the break of dawn each morning because there was just so much to see.
We drove over 1200 miles in 6 days for goodness' sake!
And I couldn't be more happy and thankful that we really made the most of this trip, especially the time we had with my dad (will go into that one day, maybe). Even if it did mean that we needed literally a week of recovery before we felt more like our normal selves once we got back home!
So here's how it all began...
got to the airport at 4:30am (and actually ran into one of Danny's classmates there as well!)

Portland, OR Airport (PDX)

headed to see some waterfalls just after arriving at the airport!

look at all the GREEN!

we have arrived :)

Danny couldn't resist getting closer to it

bestseller @Powell's Books sold so well we may never know what it actually is haha

SNOWBALL FIGHT!
3 Musketeers: Danny, Me, Dad

Beware of the trolls under the bridge!
We also headed over to Washington for a couple days on our trip so we could go see Mount St. Helens and ended up staying near a little town called Longview. It was completely deserted without a person in sight (cue Twilight Zone music)!
where we were

the only man people we passed...statues

my dad got caught by the Longview cops haha

how I kept myself busy on the long drives...backseat self portraits

headed to Mt. St. Helens

came across a couple construction workers on the way

The Mount. On the most miserable-looking day :/
So that wraps up part one of the trip. In the rest of the few days we had with my dad we experienced the Oregon coast. Amazing doesn't even come close to describing it! Tons of pics about that tomorrow :)

have a great day!

love always,

I am so nosy - or maybe its because of my own Dad sitch - but now I am really curious about the "especially the time we had with my dad" line!!

I kinda love that that place in Washington was deserted - how cool!
