Just Cruisin' Around!

Finally! I have drawn this out for far too long, so here are the pictures of our first cruise! We made sure to have tons of fun and enjoy ourselves completely {which I'm sure you can tell from the photos!}
Remember, you can catch up on our first day at sea by reading here.

Day 2: Freeport, Bahamas
This port was not all that.It seemed like a teaser of what would come the next day. We just walked around, took a taxi to the Lacaya shopping plaza and Casino {along with everyone else on the cruise it seemed!} and saw a whole lot of the same scenery. All of the shops were pretty much repeats of each other since they all sold basically the same merchandise. Although, we did end up leaving with a mini banjo-type instrument to add to the musical souvenir collection we have at home.
arrived at Freeport!
eating breafast...2 plates!

Danny getting annoyed at all the pictures I'm taking!

lunch time! 2 plates again!

Day 3: Nassau, Bahamas!
This is where the party got STARTED! We had a blast walking around the city, going to Atlantis and enjoying the beautiful beach! We wish we had more time at Atlantis but I have a feeling that we will have a longer stay there in the future.
Breakfast!

it was so windy!

 We also had Formal night this day and got some great pics!

gangster pose with the ship's director and assistant director...that's how we roll! Haha!

We came back to find an elephant in our room!
Day 4: Fun day at sea!
We were completely entertained from morning til very late at night with game shows, comedy clubs, dances at dinner, karaoke and my favorite part....the deck party!

a great couple we met at dinner

Day 5: Depart the Ship
You can read the story about that here!

Well, that concludes our cruise adventures!

Funny Story!

On Monday I began posting about the cruise we took in December but I only told you about our first day, which wasn't all that interesting but you can read all about it here.
 This funny story happened the last day of our trip:

Danny and I turned off all our alarms for the cruise so we could relax and sleep in everyday and it was great because we didn't have a window in our room so it stayed dark no matter what time of day it was. Therefore, the entirety of our trip we had been waking up about 10:30am. Well we had to set an alarm for the last day at sea since we disembarked the ship at 7:30am. However, we didn't fall asleep until about midnight that night because we got extremely sea sick. So here's how our morning began:

Danny: Asha! Wake up! We.Are.Late!!! My phone died and the alarm never went off!
Me: Are you kidding?! Are you serious?! How late...
Danny: (with a very sad face) it's 11am....
Me: What?! I wanted to take a shower! (that's all I could think about, forget the fact that the boat could be sailing off again!)
Danny: I don't know what to do. I will call guest services.
{as he is calling, I look down at his watch and that's when I realized....}
Me: Danny! Stop calling! It's 5am!
{Danny looks at his watch, turns it the right-side up and then we both laugh uncontrollably!}
The End!
His watch was upside-down and since it only had lines and no numbers, in the dark the 5 o' clock hand looked like 11. We both still wonder what would have happened if his call had gone through to guest services, haha!
Moral of the story: don't EVER go on a cruise without having a window in your room!

Tomorrow I really will share all the details of our trip with you :)

Speaking of a Cruise...

 I know it was forever-ago since I left to go on a cruise with Daniel but I finally have time to share all the details (#1 procrastinator here) !
We had such a great vacation and consumed more food than our bellies could handle in the way-too-short time that we were away! Our adventure doesn't start on the ship, however. It begins with the morning afternoon that we left our house. For those who are experienced cruisers I'm sure you know that the ship usually departs around 4pm (as ours did) and all travelers are required to be on board by 2:30pm at the latest. Well don't you know that we love pushing our luck?
Daniel and I were completely exhausted from partying the night before (my grad party!) so all we wanted to do was sleep in. Therefore, even after all three alarms went off we were still dozing off at 10am! When we finally awoke, we hastily gathered our things and we pulled out of the driveway at exactly 11:59am. Perhaps now would be a good time to mention that we live two hours away from Port Canaveral and needed to get gas, Danny wanted to exchange his suit jacket at JC Penney and I wanted to buy a really amazing spiral hair curler for the trip. We actually ended up accomplishing the first two tasks in record time but decided to wait until we were closer before stopping to get the hair curler.
We made it to the port just before 2:30 (don't ask how fast we were driving!) but still had no curler so we asked the security guard if we would have enough time to pick one up. According to him, we had at least another half hour before our deadline for boarding was actually over. So, we decided to put our fate in the hands of the security guard and head out on our search for the curler.Now, get this: after visiting not one but two different Walgreens stores, a CVS, the Cape Canaveral mall and Walmart Supercenter I still did not find the stinkin' curler that I wanted! I could not believe how un-fashion-savvy (totally made up that word!) the people of Cape Canaveral are! Ugh! Needless to say, I sported straight hair for the rest of the week and because of our little escapade we were the last two people to walk through the desolate boarding area, but hey at least we made it! As soon as we got on board we did 3 things:

1. We ran up to the top deck to see the boat take off

oh yea...it was raining when we arrived!
it was crazy windy!

2. We changed clothes and ate food!
our teeny-tiny room!

at our fancy dinner
my piggy animal we came back to after dinner

3. We played around with the camera and took crazy pictures in the elevator!

Tune in for Part 2 of our adventures on the sea tomorrow! ;)
