How Could I Forget...

Happy One-More-Day-Until-Friday Day!

I absolutely love this time of year from April to July because I can honestly say I am busy {not just pretending to be busy while I'm really just sitting around at home, ha!} every single weekend. I love all the baby showers, summer get-togethers and weddings that always happen in these spring/ summer months. Only downside: I get so caught up in the excitement that I forget to share all the update on le blog! So this is officially the "catch-up" post :)

Here's what I've been up to behind closed doors:
1. Made an Easter bunting banner! I just drew a huge X on scrap book paper, cut the X so it became 4 triangles to a page, used the cricut for my letters, a hole punch and some string. Oh, and my wonderful mod podge i.e. best glue ever! :)

realizing I should have used Windex...

2. I put together little Easter goodie bags for my neighbors with baked (from packages of course, ha!) cookies and a little note. Yes, I know I'm the sweetest neighbor ever. So kidding!

3. I just realized that I only revealed half of  the before/after of my craft room/office a few months ago on this post but here is the other messy side of the space:
our filing/ storage area

love these printables I got from Pinterest

the room. As you can see there is still quite a bit of organizing to be done!

We definitely have a ways to go before the office will be at its best but I'm just glad that all the furniture is up and we can actually use the room now!

4. I created a "Featured" button for all of my guest bloggers to take back to their blog with them! :)

If you would like to guest post just read the "Be My Guest" tab for info on how to get started!

5. Most exciting news of all! I'm actually in the midst of creating several DIY projects at the moment so those posts will be up in the next couple weeks! I absolutely love crafting and that passion just keeps on growing. Who knows, maybe one day I will be a craft queen and start my own blog for it {it's fun to dream!}

love always,

Office Makeover- Sneak Peek!!!

Happy Thursday!
Let me start by saying THANK YOU! I just realized I am almost to 100 followers! It really means a lot to me that there are almost 100 people, only 3 of whom I have met IRL, that actually chose to follow along on my adventures. I will definitely be doing something special to commemorate hitting the 100-mark when it happens but just give me a little time to get over the shock factor of it all first :)

Now onto the sneak peek of my office makeover!
We were completely inspired by IKEA and wanted to have a clutter-free and more efficient work station that we both could use. (Also, the yellow paint had got to GO)!
As you will see in the before pics, only one person could work at the desk at a time...that is NOT COOL when we both have busy lives and need to get stuff done ASAP! We did this complete makeover for under $350 (including tax, ha!) and there is still another side of the room left to be revealed :)

Before: (sorry the pics are only of one side of the room. I stink at remembering to take 'before' pics!
What.A.Mess! (Not Daniel, just the room :)

my mom is the lucky recipient of our old office desk :)

After: (this is only part of the finished room)

We love the new greyish-brown color and the fact that it's semi-gloss instead of flat paint. Trust me, it makes a GI-NORMOUS {gigantic/enormous} difference! It also gives the room a more calming effect which is definitely needed when there is already a ton of stress going on inside our minds as we try to accomplish work. Ya know what I mean?!
The shelves were also a major improvement to our office space because they allow everything to be more spread out, which equals less clutter! We love, love, LOVE this new room!

Annnnddd....I don't know if you can tell but there are LED lights underneath the shelves! Even though that;s probably the smallest part of the improvement, I can't tell you what an unbelievable difference those lights make at night!
TA-DA!

The pictures really don't do justice because the desk is actually 6.5 feet long! We can both work comfortably side-by-side, which was one of the main reasons we decided to fork out the $$ to makeover the room :)

And do you remember the banner I was trying to make in this post? Well here is the finished product:

Some other accents around the room:

this is the top of our giant bookshelf/ storage area/ cubbies, haha!

close-up of the pictures....I printed them from Pinterest!

I can't wait to reveal the entire room to you soon...as well as the ways I was able to organize everything, which I must give some credit to Pinterest for all the organizational insight. Can't wait to show you all the details verrry soon!
Can you tell I'm excited about this room? :)

love always,
