How Could I Forget...

Happy One-More-Day-Until-Friday Day!

I absolutely love this time of year from April to July because I can honestly say I am busy {not just pretending to be busy while I'm really just sitting around at home, ha!} every single weekend. I love all the baby showers, summer get-togethers and weddings that always happen in these spring/ summer months. Only downside: I get so caught up in the excitement that I forget to share all the update on le blog! So this is officially the "catch-up" post :)

Here's what I've been up to behind closed doors:
1. Made an Easter bunting banner! I just drew a huge X on scrap book paper, cut the X so it became 4 triangles to a page, used the cricut for my letters, a hole punch and some string. Oh, and my wonderful mod podge i.e. best glue ever! :)

realizing I should have used Windex...

2. I put together little Easter goodie bags for my neighbors with baked (from packages of course, ha!) cookies and a little note. Yes, I know I'm the sweetest neighbor ever. So kidding!

3. I just realized that I only revealed half of  the before/after of my craft room/office a few months ago on this post but here is the other messy side of the space:
our filing/ storage area

love these printables I got from Pinterest

the room. As you can see there is still quite a bit of organizing to be done!

We definitely have a ways to go before the office will be at its best but I'm just glad that all the furniture is up and we can actually use the room now!

4. I created a "Featured" button for all of my guest bloggers to take back to their blog with them! :)

If you would like to guest post just read the "Be My Guest" tab for info on how to get started!

5. Most exciting news of all! I'm actually in the midst of creating several DIY projects at the moment so those posts will be up in the next couple weeks! I absolutely love crafting and that passion just keeps on growing. Who knows, maybe one day I will be a craft queen and start my own blog for it {it's fun to dream!}

"It's OK" - Friends Edition!

Today I come to you feeling very heavy...I found out last night when I weighed myself on the Wii (for the first time since August!) that I have gained 6 pounds since then!! You have no idea how irate I was! So I have taken a consensus with myself and decided that the gym is my new best friend who I will hang out with Monday - Friday from 1-2:30pm. I'm also doing a juice fast beginning next week to cleanse my body of all the nasty stuff I put inside it. Pray for me that my body will have the strength to withstand the intense regimen it will be undergoing!

I'm also linking up with Amber and Neely for "It's OK" Thursdays and this one is all about my friends!

Its Ok Thursdays

It's OK...
1. To feel like I'm meeting old friends even though this will be my first time meeting my fellow Tampa bloggers in real life on Friday!
2. To worry about what I'm going to wear a week in advance for the aforementioned meetup (and still not be decided on the outfit). Ha!
3. To hope that we all actually connect with each other and to be more than a little bit nervous about making a good impression :/
4. To countdown the days between one event with friends and family and the next...it's what I live for!
5. To be dying to have a house party so it can be another excuse to have friends over at our little house :)
6. To already have what seems like a thousand ideas for my craft night with Lauren and Val in a couple weeks!

On that note, here are some of my best finds for Spring/ Easter crafts:

this site is filled with spring crafts!

Aren't they gorgeous?! Oh by the way, join me tomorrow for a tutorial on making your own Spring bracelet! It's easy, I promise!

Getting Crafty: Colorful Vases!

I'm sure you all thought this day would never happen.
You know, the one where I say I am going to re-create a DIY project from Pinterest and actually do it!
But surprise! Here I am about to prove that anything can be possible, ha!
Here is the picture that inspired me:
Supplies needed: Glass vase ($1 @ Dollar Store), Acrylic paint (about $4), small paintbrush that I already had, newspaper to lay the vase on
Total Cost: $5! And there is still plenty of paint leftover for future projects :)
Now I'm not saying mine turned out nearly as nice, but I promise I tried my hardest so that's gotta count for something! Right? Here's what I did:

Step 1: Wash your glass vase with soap and warm water, rinse, and dry thoroughly

Step 2: Pour acrylic paint around the bottom edges inside the vase and slowly swirl it around to cover the sides.
**TIP**: A little paint goes a LONG way!
Step 3: turn the vase upside down on the newspaper to let the paint slide down the sides and for the excess to drip down as well.
**once it starts getting close to the rim you could pour some of the paint back into the bottle to recycle for next time.
Step 4: Use your little paintbrush to touch up any areas that aren't covered with paint
Step 5: get a wet cloth or heavy-duty paper towel and wipe any paint that is around the rim of the vase
Step 6: Sit the vase upright and allow to dry overnight
Step 7: Walk into the room and the morning and see something that looks like this (or hopefully even better!):

Ta-da! That was easy,right?
But remember: this vase cannot be used for live flowers because of the paint that is on the inside. Mine will be used as decoration for my bookshelf :)
I will also try other crafts in the future.

Have a great Friday!

Crafting Like Crazy!

So I ended up getting some much-needed inspiration for blog posts this 3-day weekend! I met up with Lauren and Val for to create some Valentine's Day decor. We filled Val's table with tons of pink and red supplies from yarn, ribbons and bows to stencils, paper cutouts, and even paints! Here are some pics of the crafting frenzy last night:
Sorry...we were starving so I didn't get the food pic until after we ate, haha!

this is part of my banner....I will post the end result later this week :)

I also had a ROOM MAKEOVER!
This weekend I hit up IKEA with the hubster and we ended up being there for almost THREE hours! It seriously only felt like 30-45 minutes! That place is amazing and the prices are truly unbeatable. It also inspired me on future blog posts. Right now Daniel and I have some gigantic plans for our future, which of course takes more than a little moo-la! So this makeover was done for a purpose, not just because I wanted new stuff (okay, I admit that getting new stuff was pretty awesome!). We did this in order to utilize every nook and cranny of the small space that makes up our office. Stay tuned for the finished project as well as Before and After pics this week!

Dishing out some info...and an award!

I am soooo thrilled that P from Life's Little Lessons chose to pass on the Versatile Blogger award to me :)
But of course it comes with some rules in order to accept....
1. Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to them in your post (See above!!)
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Pass this award on to 5 other recently discovered blogs. Here are a few great reads  I'm sure you'll enjoy!:

So now for part 2 of the rules to receive the award, here's a few fun little things about moi!
1. I am the proud semi-owner of two of the world's sweetest dachshunds, Priya and Max. I may not talk about them much since I left them with my mom after getting married, but they are still the pups who are closest to my heart!

2. I'm a sucker for scrapbooking and all other somewhat-easy-to-do crafts....and I've even convinced Danny to join my bandwagon and we are creating things together :)

3. For my wedding we  made all of our own bouquets, centerpieces, table cards, place settings, invitations and other floral decorations because I enjoy being hands-on and felt that I would cherish those items so much more knowing that I took part in creating them for my special day.

4. I am SOOO into Bollywood movies!  If you tell me Amitabh Bachchan, Kajol, Aishwarya Rai, Sharukh Khan or Rani Mukherjee is in a movie, you know I will be watching it very soon!

5. I have such a passion for travelling. So far I have been to Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, England, China, Japan, South Korea, Tibet, Hong Kong and India but there are tons more countries that I would love to visit!
The Taj Mahal

A hotel in Japan

in Tibet

The Great Wall of China
6. Though I really do love and enjoy the job I have, my real dream is for Daniel and I to have our own business one day. I have no idea what that business may be, but I'm excited about what's to come!
7.  I met my husband Daniel at church during one of the hardest times in both of our lives and God turned it into one of the best times! You can check out the "Our Love Story" tab for more about us :)

So that's all the info I'm giving out about myself for now. You'll have to visit again to find out some more of my aspects on life!

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!
love always,
