Storytime: Got gas?

You will never guess what happened to us this weekend!
I want to start off by saying that, no, I am not having any bodily function issues, thank you very much! Ha! Just needed to get that straightened out upfront.

Here's my story:
Daniel found a weight set on Craigslist for an amazing price on Saturday morning but it was pretty far from our house and would be the first trip of longer than 5-8 miles that he had taken in his new-to-us truck so far. But he was so excited and it was definitely worth it so off he went that morning on a trip that should take no more than about 15-20 minutes each way.
30 minutes after he leaves: I get a call from Danny and his voice sounded the teensiest bit shaky; he sounded like he was holding something back from me. So of course my first response was, "Oh no! How much did you end up paying for the weights?!" I knew how bad he wanted the set and just hoped he didn't break the bank for them. But, that wasn't the case this time. It was worse!

He told me that he was stranded in a parking lot because the truck broke down! Are you kidding me? But that's okay, this was no biggie because he works around mechanics all day so if he couldn't figure out the problem himself than for sure one of his mechanic friends could walk him through it.
the troublemaker!

15 minutes later: I arrive to the scene of the breakdown with Danny's toolbox in hand and find out that his friends think it might be the alternator (that's major $$) but he could probably fix it himself.

4 hours later: Finally, after learning how to replace just about every part under the hood of that vehicle, we get the smart idea to fill up our gas can and put some fuel in the truck because, hey, we tried everything else so what's the harm?

You guessed it!! We needed GAS! Thank God that was the only problem! And lesson learned, try the cheap common-sense stuff FIRST, ha!

Danny in his new ride!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

love always,
